MOT’s in King’s Lynn
Class 4 MOT test centre in King’s Lynn
An MOT test is an annual inspection to check the roadworthiness of your vehicle.
It’s a legal requirement – if you are caught driving on the roads without a valid MOT you could be fined and receive penalty points on your licence.
At our MOT centre in King’s Lynn, we allow around an hour for our tester to complete his checks and determine whether your car will pass or fail. If your car passes, you can drive it away immediately. If it fails, further work will need to be completed to ensure it is roadworthy before you can take it away. You may also be advised of further work we would recommend doing to avoid failing on future tests.

You don’t have to pay main dealer prices to get main dealer quality…
It’s a common misconception that independent garages cannot complete work to the same standard as the main dealers. In this case, the saying “you get what you pay for” is misleading.
Main dealer garages often charge more, but independent garages like us that employ professional, fully-trained technicians and use up-to-date technology and equipment can do the same job at the same (or better!) quality for a more affordable price.
When it comes to MOTs especially, all test centres are required by law to adhere to strict criteria set by the DVSA, so, as long as the garage is an approved vehicle testing station and the checks are conducted by a qualified tester, the results shouldn’t differ.

frequently asked questions
How do I know if my MOT has expired? You can check on the status of your vehicle online. Visithttps://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ and enter your registration. Or, give us a call and we can check for you.
Where should I get my MOT done?
You can choose to have your vehicle’s MOT done at either a main dealer/franchised garage, a fast fit garage (like Halfords), or an independent such as ourselves. Make sure the garage you take it to is an authorised Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) and that the test is carried out by a Nominated Tester (NT). It is common knowledge that independent garages tend to offer lower labour rates, but unfortunately, some people also believe that they are less trustworthy. While it is sensible to be wary of a garage you’re unsure of – particularly if their prices seem too good to be true! – a good indicator of a garage you can trust is one that people recommend. Check out the reviews of the garage you are considering – people don’t often leave good reviews unless they are really happy with the service so a good star rating and plenty of 5-star reviews points to a good garage. It’s often handy to get your MOT carried out at a garage that is also able to complete the necessary repairs it may need in the unfortunate event that it fails. If your MOT fails with us, we can carry out all repairs (following a quote and approval from yourself) and then re-test it for free, getting you back on the road as soon as possible.
Can I be reminded when my MOT test is due?
We all have a lot going on in our lives, and it’s easy to forget to renew your MOT each year. Our free MOT reminder service will send you a text to let you know when your next MOT is due, and you can book your car in with us via a link in the message.
What happens if my car fails its MOT test?
If your car fails, this means it doesn’t meet the legal requirements that allow it to be driven on the road and further work must be completed.
Following a failed MOT test, you will be informed of any repairs that need to be carried out, and the cost, so that your car meets the requirements. As long as you get the repairs done in 10 working days, you are eligible for a free re-test if we carry out the work
