Vehicle diagnostics in Hunstanton and King’s Lynn
Has a warning light appeared on your dashboard?
A diagnostics test can help identify any potential issues. Our fully trained technicians use state-of-the-art, up-to-date diagnostic equipment to quickly scan for fault codes and advise on the solutions.
So, if you’ve noticed a peculiar light on your dashboard, or your car is running poorly, a diagnostics test may be the answer.

“Can’t I just get a code read done?”
This is a common question but, unfortunately it is not enough to just plug in a simple code reader and review the fault codes. Firstly, there is diagnostic equipment and then there is diagnostic equipment – the quality of the tools used makes a difference. Secondly, you have to be able to understand the fault codes identified and where to look next. Think of it this way: fault codes are like the symptoms of a health issue. Knowing the symptoms alone won’t help to solve your problem. You need to know the cause of the symptoms to fix it, hence the need for a doctor. That’s why it’s important that you use a garage with a qualified, experienced diagnostic technician for diagnostics and accurate fault-finding. Thirdly, it’s no good having diagnostics done if, once the fault is identified, the garage you’ve taken your vehicle to can’t fix it! It is much better to take your car to a garage that can provide an accurate diagnosis and has the skill level and competence to tackle the “complicated, scary” jobs that may come from it.

frequently asked questions
What happens during a car diagnostics scan?
We connect a computer to your ECU (Engine Control Unit) and scan for codes. Our highly trained technicians then decide on a diagnostics route to accurately find the fault. A scan will often only give us the symptom – it is the technician’s job to delve deeper and identify the problem.
How long does a diagnostics scan take?
A car diagnostics scan can take around 1 hour. If further work is required, this will obviously add extra time.
How accurate are they?
This depends a lot on the quality of the diagnostics kit. We have invested in top-of-the-range equipment to ensure we can establish which diagnostic codes are stored, and achieve a greater level of interpretation as to what the fault is.
