I have been at K Brown for 3 months now as a Workshop Controller. My favourite part of the job is seeing the other side of the motor trade having spent 15 years in part supply. I enjoy the overall sense of inclusion here. Everybody is an integral and valued part of the team, which spreads through to the customers.

I have worked at K Brown for 6 years and I’m a Qualified Tech. My favourite part of my job is problem solving and working as part of a team. My most memorable moment is when another technician, Dave, fell over – if you know, you know! And, the track day we did during one summer bank holiday at Cadwell Park when everyone came, including the owners.

I’ve worked for K Browns a little over 10 years now. I’m the Company Manager – I help and oversee managing and running of both workshops. My favourite part of the job is learning new skills and getting the opportunity to learn more every day. Also being able to extend my knowledge to the trainees and build a stronger team. My most memorable moment is our trip to London as a whole company; technicians, receptionists, managers and directors. Going through the crystal maze and racing at the F1 arcade. No stress and laughs all around.

Our Culture – How We Do Things

We work hard on our company culture, constantly looking for ways we can make work more enjoyable for our team and finding opportunities to make them feel valued. Here are some key things to know about the culture at K Brown Auto Repairs:

• Not Just a Number – as a small business, we take the time to get to know each member of staff as an individual.
• Quality Time – we organise multiple team-building opportunities, team day’s out and fun activities to foster good relationships.
• Fully Supported – our directors are available all day, and our owners still help run the business each day. Someone senior is always around if you need a chat about anything, whether work=-related or personal. The office door is always open and the phones are always on.
• Strong Company Values – our Company Values (as shown above) are reflected in everything we do.
• We Really Care – it’s a cliche to call a business a family, but we really do feel it’s the case here. With two generations of our family in the business, we have a lot of experience. Many of our staff members have been here for over 10 years. We feel like one big, dysfunctional family!
• Work/Life Balance is Important – we made the decision many years ago to stay closed all weekend. We wanted our team to be able to spend more time with their family and friends and achieve a good work/life balance. Life shouldn’t be all about work.
• Training and Development – we want our staff to progress in their career with us so we offer training opportunities and support our staff to achieve their goals. In the past, our staff have benefitted from Electric and Hybrid Vehicle training, NVQ Level 2 & 3 Apprenticeships, MOT Tester training, Diagnostic training, Air-Conditioning Training, Management training and Business Finance training. These courses are funded and organised by us.
